Physician Eligibility
The TOGA® Procedure is currently being performed only by physicians integrated into multi-specialty obesity treatment centers. The TOGA Procedure is an endoluminal procedure and requires endoscopic skills, familiarity with manipulation of gastric anatomy, and expertise in the multi-functional treatment of morbid obesity. Investigators are bariatric surgeons and endoscopists who meet these criteria.
Investigational centers participating in our studies use standard obesity surgery pre- and post-procedure patient selection and treatment guidelines. Patients are screened for psychiatric, medical and anatomical appropriateness, and by nutritional counselors to assess ability to conform to post-procedure dietary guidelines. Post-procedure, patients undergo nutritional counseling by dieticians or nutritionists experienced in the counseling of post-procedure bariatric patients.
** The TOGA System has been granted CE Mark but is not yet available for sale.
