Patient Eligibility
The TOGA® Procedure is only available as part of clinical trials at this time. To find out more about where the clinical trials of the TOGA System are being conducted, click here.
The TOGA® Procedure is performed entirely through the mouth, avoiding surgical incisions that are typical with traditional bariatric surgery. The procedure creates a restrictive pouch on the inside of the stomach, intended to provide the patient with a feeling of fullness after a small meal.
Patients interested in participating in the study must at the very least meet all of the following criteria.
- Age 18 - 60
- BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2 and less than 55 kg/m2, or BMI between 35 and 40 kg/m2 with one or more of the following significant comorbidities:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Hypertension
- Dyslipidemia (high cholesterol)
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- History of obesity for at least 2.5 years
- History of failure with non-surgical weight loss methods
There are several criteria that will cause patients to be excluded from treatment with the TOGA Procedure. If your are interested in pursuing treatment, your physician will discuss these with you.
** The TOGA System has been granted CE Mark but is not yet available for sale.
