Procedure Overview
The TOGA® Procedure is a new investigational** incision-free treatment for obesity. The TOGA® System is a set of flexible staplers designed to be introduced and operated transorally (through the mouth) to restrict the capacity of the stomach, giving patients a feeling of fullness after a small meal. The procedure is intended to be safer and easier for patients to tolerate than conventional obesity surgery.
** The TOGA System has been granted CE Mark but is not yet available for sale.
Intended Benefits of the TOGA Procedure
- Uses the same approach as restrictive bariatric procedures – designed to limit the capacity of the stomach to give patients a feeling of fullness after a small meal
- Uses standard titanium staple technology
- No surgical incisions
- Less invasive than standard bariatric surgical procedures
